On July 4, 2012 I departed from the motel in Tropic, Utah and headed west on UT-12 past the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park to the junction with US-89, where I turned north to Panguitch. There I followed UT-143 towards Cedar Breaks National Monument. After entering it, I turned south on UT-148 through Cedar Breaks until I reached UT-14, where I turned west towards Cedar City.
My travelogue update from Kanab, UT for this section of the trip can be read here.
The following map shows my route for the day. (Click on the map to enlarge.)
Along the way to Cedar Breaks, I took numerous photos of the scenery.
This next group of photos shows Cedar Breaks National Monument and along UT-14 into Cedar City.
From Cedar City I rode south along I-15 and turned off at exit 40 to visit a part of Zion National Park called Kolob Canyons. This group of photos show the scenery after leaving Cedar Breaks, through Cedar City, along I-15, and through Kolob Canyons park.
After leaving Kolob Canyons, I continued south along I-15 to exit 27, where I turned off onto UT-17 through Toquerville. In La Verkin I continued east towards Zion National Park.
I took this group of photos starting in Virgin through Zion National Park to just before reaching Kanab. Unfortunately a layer of clouds resulted in disappointing results. At least it wasn’t raining.
