After a good night at the Super-8 in Corvallis, I resumed my journey on August 28th with the next stop at the Crater Lake National Park. For many years I have been looking forward to visiting this area again. My previous visit was in the 1980s on one of my trips from California to British Columbia. After stopping at several locations along the western and southern sides of the Lake, I continued towards my next destination, the Oregon Caves National Monument, stopping just before the turnoff near the town of Kerby for the night.
In the following map the red arrows show my route from Corvallis southeast to Crater Lake and then through Grants Pass to the small town of Kerby, just north of the Oregon Caves, which I visited the next day. (Click on the map to enlarge.)
