Summer 2011

Route from Mason, Michigan, across Upper Peninsula to Escanaba

After spending very pleasant evening and a wonderful meal with my friend Ken and his wife Vicky in Mason, near Lansing, Ken and I departed on our two motorcycles in the early morning of July 7th and headed north up the length of Michigan on US-127. Ken accompanied me most of the way before turning back towards home. The adjoining map shows my route for the day. (Click on the map to enlarge.)

After arriving in Mackinaw City, I crossed the Mackinac Bridge to visit the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. During the drive across the bridge, I began to take numerous photos of the bridge and the scenery until I reached the town of Grand Marais at the east end of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Park on the shore of Lake Superior.
