Mount Evans & Coors Brewery

After arriving back in Boulder, I contacted my new acquaintance, Calvin, whom I had met on August 29th at the Oregon Caves and described in this blog posting. Since we had wanted to go for a day ride together, we decided to do a ride to Mount Evans, or as far up the access road as possible. Thus on September 22nd, I met up with Calvin at a gas station near Morrison, a mutually convenient location, to start our day ride together to Mount Evans, through Central City and finally stopping at the Coors Brewery in Golden to take a tour. My blog posting for this excursion can be read here.

Photos taken the previous day on the day ride up Coal Creek Canyon and along the Peak-to-Peak Highway can be viewed here.  Tomorrow’s photos from my ride with both K.C. and Calvin can be viewed here.

In the following map the red arrows show our route. (Click on the map to enlarge.)

My route on the ride to Mount Evans with Calvin with a stop at the Coors Brewery

After arriving at the Coors Brewery in Golden, we discovered that we had arrived just a bit too late to take part in a regular tour of the facility, but still in time to partake in the mini-tour of the tavern, where samples of various brews can be tasted.
