Golden Gate Canyon

Route from to Boulder, up Golden Gate Canyon, along Peak-to-Peak Hwy to Estes Park, and back to Boulder

On this beautiful Saturday, July 23rd, my friend K.C. and I decided to make a day trip from Boulder to Peak-to-Peak Highway (CO-119 & 72), this time by riding up Golden Gate Canyon (CO-46), as shown in the adjoining map. (Click on map to enlarge.)

Thus we first rode south on CO-93 along the Front Range from Boulder to Golden, where we turned west heading up the canyon. We then rode north on CO-119 to Nederland, where it becomes CO-72, all the way to Estes Park. There we took Devil’s Gulch Road (CR-43) through Glen Haven along the North Fork of the Big Thompson River to Loveland. From there we headed back to Boulder along a variety of county roads. The entire ride was 155 miles and took us just over 5 hours.

These are most of the numerous photos I took as I followed K.C. on his 2008 Harley Road King.
